of the new ATC Tower were removed during the day....

.... resulting in a changing view

.... until the final Olympic Ring was removed during
the afternoon leaving only the frame in place

Friday 24 August 2012 - Air Mediterranee Boeing 737 SX-BHR off to Lourdes

Air Mediterranee Boeing 737-5L9 SX-BHR positioned in from
Nantes to operate a charter to Lourdes - the aircraft is
operated on their behalf by Hermes Airlines and this was
its first visit to BHX registered as such but it had previously
visited as OY-APP when operated by Maersk Air

Ryanair Boeing 737-8AS EI-ENJ which is currently based wears
additional titles advertising Podkarpackie Province in southern
Poland the capital of which is the city of Rzeszow

Perfect Aviation Learjet 60XR CS-DTH was an afternoon
visitor to the Elmdon apron while....

Tower Watch - Tuesday 21 August 2012 - work starts on removal of the "Olympic Rings"

Work started during the day on removing the
Olympic Rings from the top of new ATC Tower....
.
.... the air side/east side rings were removed by
the end of the day although the frame that had held
them on the side of the ATC Tower was still in place
.
.... the work is planned to be completed by the end of the week
