"Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester" for their concert at Symphony Hall on Tuesday evening....

.... the aircraft parked up on Stand 71 and will be staying until their departure on Wednesday

visit and the second time a "Sharklet" equipped Airbus A320 has visited Birmingham!

Air France Airbus A320-211 F-GFKS which is is in "Skyteam" colours....

.... operated their morning flight to Paris CDG

from Shannon - the lying snow making the all white scheme an even brighter white!

Hangar Watch - Tuesday 26 March 2013

Work has continued on erecting the main steel frame of the aircraft maintenance bays
of the new Monarch Aircraft Engineering Hangar with the outline of the south bay now
visible - there will be two side by side bays - the structure in the foreground is the
offices/service areas that will be at the back of the Hangar....

Joe Kelly, Birmingham Airports CAO, is elected President of Solihull Chamber of Commerce


Joe Kelly, Birmingham Airports Chief Administration Officer and Company Secretary,
has been elected the new president of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce

Joe, who has been elected President for two years, was full of praise for the 
"‘vibrant and active" organisation and sees the region as the centre of the 
Government’s strategy to move the country into prosperity

 

Solihull Chamber is part of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group,
which, is the largest and oldest Chamber in the UK. Joe is a Brummie and
qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982, gaining an MBA from Aston
University in 1993.  In his role with Birmingham Airport he has responsibility
for supporting the delivery of the new runway extension

.... as the aircraft starts to roll it starts to whip up the snow

.... into a small snow storm as the aircraft rotates

... turning into two small blizzards

Monarch celebrate inaugural flight to Gibraltar from Birmingham with flight voucher for early bookers!!

Monarch, the leading scheduled leisure airline, celebrated its first flight to Gibraltar
from Birmingham on Saturday 23 March 2013 and three lucky passengers were
greeted at check-in with a glass of champagne and a free flight voucher

Wendy, Jim and Sheila Palmer, were the first passengers to book on to the new flight
to Gibraltar, which will operate three times a week. For summer 2013 there are now
over 27,000 seats available on the new Birmingham to Gibraltar route; this is the
first of three new routes Monarch is launching from Birmingham Airport. Services
to Bordeaux and Split will both launch on 22nd May 2013
