Monarch celebrates the start of summer - commences new route from Birmingham to Hurghada, Egypt

Monarch, the leading scheduled airline to leisure destinations, today celebrates the start
of summer with new routes from four UK bases, two new A321 Airbus aircraft, new cabin
crew as well as taking advantage of Monarch’s summer sale with up to £25 off return flights

Birmingham Airport sees a new weekly service to Hurghada, Egypt, with the inaugural flight
being operated today, Friday 2 May 2014, by Airbus A321-231 G-OZBE. This brings to 34 the
number of destinations served on either a scheduled or charter basis from Birmingham

Director of Customer Experience & Marketing, Tim Williamson comments: "Monarch Airlines
is very much celebrating a "new" summer this year with the addition of new routes and new
aircraft. This could not come at a better time as we prepare ourselves for our busiest period;
the airline will have over 5.5 million seats on sale over the summer period and expects by
mid-August to have 1,118 one way departures per week"

Alicante, Almeria, Arrecife, Barcelona, Bodrum, Bordeaux, Dalaman,
Dubrovnik, Faro, Fuerteventura, Funchal, Gibraltar, Grenoble, Heraklion,
Hurghada, Ibiza, Larnaca, Las Palmas, Mahon, Malaga, Nice, Palma,
Paphos, Rome, Sharm el Sheikh, Split, Tenerife and Venice
