China Southern Airlines operate first charter from Beijing to Birmingham on Tuesday 22 July 2014

China Southern Airlines will be operating the first of a short series of Airbus A330-200 charter flights
from Beijing to Birmingham Airport on Tuesday 22 July 2014  
  
These flights are a joint initiative between Birmingham Airport, China Southern Airlines, Caissa Travel
Management Co Ltd and Birmingham China specialist agency, United Travel, and demonstrate the
demand for more flights between the two countries. Birmingham is the first airport outside London to
offer non stop flights to China made possible as a result of the recently completed runway extension
  
The summer 2014 programme will involve direct flights operated by a 248 seat China Southern Airlines
Airbus A330-200 arriving from Beijing into Birmingham between July 22 and August 5 2014. Caissa, one
of China’s leading travel specialists, has sold a range of organised package tours to Chinese visitors
seeking to explore the world class tourism attractions in the Midlands, the North of England and London
while in the other direction Birmingham based United Travel have sold package holidays and flights to
