Monarch's inaugural flights to Porto and Stockholm take off from Birmingham Airport

Monarch, a leading low cost airline and holiday company, celebrated on Friday 28 April 2017 the
launch to two new routes from Birmingham Airport to Porto in Portugal and Stockholm in Sweden

Monarch is the only airline to fly to the Swedish capital from Birmingham and Porto is its fourth
destination in Portugal joining Faro, Lisbon and Funchal on Madeira. The airline will fly to both
destinations three times a week - to Porto on a Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and to Stockholm
on a Thursday, Friday and Sunday

Cabin crew were on hand to help with the celebrations and were joined at check-in by Monarch's Head
of Network Development Marjan Schoeke and Paul Kehoe, Birmingham Airport's Chief Executive Officer


Monarch Airbus A320-214 G-ZBAT operated their inaugural flight to Stockholm

Marjan Schoeke said: "We are delighted to add two new routes to our Birmingham programme. We are
the only UK airline to fly direct to Stockholm from Birmingham Airport and now our customers have two
new city break destinations to choose from when flying out of Birmingham Airport with Monarch"

"As well as these two new city break routes, Monarch will be launching four more new destinations from
Birmingham for summer 2017. Flights and holidays to Valencia, Split, Rhodes and Naples begin in June"

Monarch will operate flights to Porto from Birmingham Airport three times a week with fares, including taxes,
starting from £39 one way (£67 return). Flights to Stockholm will operate three times a week with fares,
