Primera Air announces another destination with direct flights to Toronto from Birmingham Airport

Primera Air have announced the opening of another North America destination from its new base
in Birmingham. Services to Toronto, Canada, will commence on Saturday 23 June 2018 and will be
a year round operation offering three weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

Daily flights to Newark New York and four weekly flights to Boston were announced earlier in the year

Andri M. Ingolfsson, the President and Chairman of Primera Air, said: "Yet again, we are very proud
to announce our new direct routes from our European bases to Canada. Toronto will be a great
addition to our earlier announced Newark New York and Boston routes from Birmingham"

"With our brand new Airbus A321NEOs aircraft, we are opening routes previously traditionally served
only by wide-body aircrafts. With unmatched efficiency of these new-generation aircraft, we will be
able to offer unprecedented prices to our passengers from the UK. At the same time, we are very
proud to be offering a low-fare/high quality product and service concept, that will be perfect both
for leisure and business travellers"

Aircraft will provide two classes of cabin - full-service Premium and low-fare Economy, Wi-Fi and
the opportunity for all passengers to charge their devices on board

William Pearson, Aviation Director at Birmingham Airport, said: "It is welcome news that Primera Air is
expanding its choice of popular Transatlantic destinations from Birmingham by adding a new route of
Toronto.  Having only announced two routes to Boston and Newark New York in July of this year this
shows the demand that Primera Air is seeing from the Midlands. We recommend that passengers book
ahead to avoid disappointment as we expect seats  will sell quickly."

Primera Air is a scheduled operator, operating flights to more than 70 airports in Europe. Primera Air
is based in Denmark and Latvia, and is part of the Primera Travel Group that operates travel agencies
and tour operating companies in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Estonia

SAS Scandinavian Airlines to resume service from Stockholm to Birmingham Airport

SAS Scandinavian Airlines has announced it will resume flights to Stockholm from Birmingham Airport
commencing on Friday 30 March 2018. It previously operated the route until Friday 27 June 2014

This currently unserved route will operate twice weekly on Fridays and Sundays using a variety
of aircraft types including 120 seat Boeing 737s

William Pearson, Birmingham Airport's Aviation Director, said: "SAS is a long standing airline at
Birmingham Airport and it's great to see an expansion of its services to include a new route of
Stockholm added to its existing route of Copenhagen"

"The Swedish capital offers something for everyone as a vibrant and cultural Nordic hub with
beautiful architecture. The city stretches across fourteen islands meaning there is stunning
scenery. It also offers great nightlife and restaurants and local warmth and hospitality"

Niko Ek, Regional Sales Manager, Scandinavian Airlines commented: "We are glad to soon
be starting our new route from Birmingham, where we have seen a growing demand from
our passengers, both traveling for pleasure and business"

Fares will start from £82.00 one way including taxes and charges

United Airlines operate their final service to Newark from Birmingham on Thursday 5 October 2017

United Airlines operated their final service from Birmingham to Newark New York
on Thursday 5 October 2017 with the Airport Fire Service marking this with a water
cannon salute as the aircraft taxied out for departure off Runway 33....

.... in return United Boeing 757 N18112 rolled its wings in salute

.... as it climbed away over Birmingham city centre

Continental Airlines - which merged with United Airlines in 2010 - commenced the route
back on Tuesday 15 July 1997 when Boeing 757 N12114 operated the inaugural flight

- Boeing 767's and Douglas DC10's have also been used on the route over the years
which at its peak was operated on a twice daily basis using Boeing 757's
