easyJet Airbus A320-214 G-EZTX operated their flight to Grenoble
in place of the usual Airbus A319 - its first visit to BHX....

.... while Airbus A319-111 G-EZGM operated the easyJet flight
to Geneva - another first visit to BHX!
.
flybe Dash 8Q-402 G-JEDK has recently been repainted "all white"
at East Midlands but remains it service departing here to Guernsey

Brit Air Canadair CRJ 100ER F-GRJU has suffered a similar fate!

Tower Watch - Sunday 11 March 2012

The structure of new ATC Tower is now complete with the final
parts of the external cladding having recently been added
.
When it is handed over to the Airport Company work will start
fitting it out with the ATC equipment and after training will be
operational in 2013

Turkmenistan Boeing 737-82K EZ-A005 operated their lunchtime
flight to Ashgabat in place of the usual Boeing 757

flybe Embraer 175 G-FBJB operated their afternoon service to
Dusseldorf - it had arrived on its first visit on Wednesday
becoming the last of the current flybe "E75" fleet to visit BHX
.
Farnair Europe ATR 72-201F HB-AFS which had arrived in
the early hours of the morning was an afternoon departure

was an early morning arrival from Graz - the 10th different
Antonov 12 to visit BHX in 2012 and its only March!!

Blue City Aviation Metro G-CEGE dropped into Birmingham
while on a training flight out of Coventry

It has been undergoing maintenance in preparation for
its return to service and will shortly become Birmingham
based again and available for general charter work

Gulfstream G200 Galaxy OE-HAS which arrived on Saturday
evening spent the day parked up on the Elmdon apron

flybe Dash 8Q-402 G-JECI still wears "british european" titles....
.
.... although the rest of the aircraft is in their current colour scheme
.
Brussels Airlines leased Tyrolean Dash 8Q-402 OE-LGC operated
their afternoon service to Brussels - it overheated it brakes on
landing and required the attendance of the Airport Fire Service

New Air Traffic Control Tower - new view of Birmingham Airport!!

This will be the view the Air Traffic Controllers will have when
Birmingham Airport's new ATC Tower is completed in 2013....

.... going outside gives a much better view of the Terminal site

The Elmdon apron/site with two Antonov 12's, an Antonov 26 and
a Hercules are on the apron - the new Eurojet hangar is on the left

Where did he come from!? - the structure of new ATC Tower
is now nearing completion - it will then be fitted out with the
ATC equipment and after training will be operational in 2013
.
