City Airline/Skyways to cease their Birmingham to Gothenburg service‏

City Airline (CF) - who have still to re brand as Skyways despite
their flights now only being bookable via the latter's www site -
will be ceasing their weekday evening Birmingham - Gothenburg
service with the last flight planned for Tuesday 1 May 2012
.
The route - which started back in November 2003 - has had
its up and downs over recent years - it was once twice daily -
and the regular schedule/timings changes during the early
part of 2012 clearly have not helped
.

British Airways Airbus A321-231 G-EUXH was a morning visitor
when it diverted in due to landing delays at London Heathrow
while operating flight "BA561" from Milan Linate - its first visit
to BHX - after refuelling it continued its journey to Heathrow
.
CityJet Fokker 50 OO-VLM also diverted in due to poor visibility
at London City while operating a flight from Paris Orly
.
Air France Airbus A320-211 F-GJVW operated their morning
service to Paris CDG - its first visit to BHX - while....

undergoing checks with flybe SX-BII is now parked on its own
on Stand 506/at the end of the old cross Runway

Menzies Aviation commence passenger ground handling operations at Birmingham Airport

Menzies Aviation today, Wednesday 28 March 2012, commenced
a 3 year ground handling contract for flybe at Birmingham Airport
.
Menzies have a cargo facility on the Elmdon site but this is their
first passenger ground handling contract at Birmingham - as
a result the airport again has three terminal based handling
agents - Menzies, Servisair and Swissport
