Monday 21 January 2013 - seeing double!? - two Star Air/UPS Boeing 767 freighters divert to BHX!!

Two Star Air Boeing 767-25EF freighters flying on behalf of UPS diverted into BHX in the
early hours as a result of East Midlands Airport being closed because of snow and ice....

.... both aircraft had originated in Cologne and had already diverted to Stansted in the
expectation that East Midlands would reopen but when this was not the case both aircraft
came onto BHX - Boeing 767-25EF OY-SRJ was routing Cologne-EMA-Belfast International

.... while Boeing 767-25EF OY-SRK which was on its first visit to BHX was routing onto Edinburgh

As East Midlands remained closed for most of the day both aircraft were unloaded at BHX

.... while Boeing 737-9F2ER TC-JYD operated the regular BHX service - another first visit
and the first time Turkish have used a 737-900ER on their scheduled service to BHX
