Monday 7 November 2016 - UPS reroute their overnight parcel operation to Birmingham Airport

UPS moved their overnight parcel operation from East Midlands to Birmingham on Sunday
night/Monday morning due to the latter airport's weekend runway closure for resurfacing....

.... 4 flights were rerouted resulting in three Boeing 767s being parked on the Elmdon apron
at BHX at the same time in the early hours of Monday morning

.... the parcel containers were off loaded from the aircraft and transferred onto a fleet of trucks
to be taken to/from the UPS freight terminal at East Midlands Airport - aircraft involved were....

UPS Boeing 767-34AFER N359UP which operated from/to Cologne - its first visit to BHX....

Star Air Boeing 767-219F OY-SRN which arrived from Cologne before continuing onto Belfast....


Euro Atlantic Cargo Boeing 767-375F CS-TLZ, which is on lease to Star Air, and which
arrived from Cologne before continuing onto Edinburgh - its first visit to BHX - and....

DHL Air Boeing 767-3JHF G-DHLE was a lunchtime departure to East Midlands after attention
by Monarch Aircraft Engineering starting up on Taxiway Lima.... Photo: Mike Hollick

.... the aircraft had been pushed out of the Monarch hangar and towed Lima One

.... then taxying around the airport and along Taxiway Sierra

.... to depart off Runway 33 for a one hour air test before continuing onto East Midlands

KLM cityhopper Fokker 70 PH-KZU which is in their new style colour scheme
operated their lunchtime service to Amsterdam

DHL Air Boeing 767-3JHF G-DHLE arrived in the early hours of Monday morning on
its first visit to BHX for attention by Monarch Aircraft Engineering initially parking on
Stand 82 on the terminal side of the airport - it was later towed across to the hangar

- the aircraft wears additional "Egypt where it all begins" titles and their new style tail logo

SAS Boeing 737-76N SE-REU operated their lunchtime flight from Stockholm Arlanda
- the service having restarted the previous Friday evening after its winter break
