Thursday 12 July 2012 - Airport Fire Service marks 15 years of United Airlines at Birmingham Airport

The Airport Fire Service were on hand to mark the celebration of
the 15th anniversary of United Airlines service to Birmingham....

.... with a water cannon salute as Boeing 757-224 N17128 taxied
for departure back to Newark, New York, as the "UA 027"....
.
.... with the early morning sun creating a rainbow!

Swiftair Embraer Brasilia EC-HTS which is normally a

evening departure with a load of freight for Monrovia
via Malaga by which time it was raining again!

Wednesday 21 April 2010 - Ash cloud? - Birmingham Airport is back in business!!

After clearance was granted on Tuesday evening to reopen UK
airspace the race was on to restart operations - first departure
(with passengers) from BHX on Wednesday morning was
Monarch flight ZB 402 to Faro which was operated by
Airbus A321-231 G-OZBG - well done to Monarch
for having 3 of the first 4 departures from Birmingham ....
.
.... and to Tim and Lucy from the "Express and Star" for
being on hand to catch the first departure
which earned them a copy of the "BHX Flight Guide"!!

to Faro - the first departure since Thursday 15 April 2010! - the
race was then on to repatriate all the stranded passengers....
. .... Lufthansa used CityLine Embraer 195LR D-AEBB to operate
their afternoon service to Munich - its first visit to BHX - in
place of the usual Canadair CRJ 900 while....
..... Turkish Airlines laid on two extra flight to repatriate passengers
stranded in Istanbul - Airbus A321-231 TC-JRB was an evening
arrival with 321 TC-JML operating an (extra) lunchtime service
.
Eurocypria Boeing 737-8BK 5B-DBZ operated their
much delayed IT flight to Paphos
.
Hawker 850XP G-CERX was an overnight arrival
spending the day parked on the Elmdon apron....
.
.... while Eurojet Citation XLS G-KPEI was an afternoon visitor
operating a training flight

Thursday 31 July 2014 - Air India Boeing 787-8 VT-ANB completes one year of service to BHX

Air India Boeing 787-8 VT-ANB operated their flight from Amritsar via Delhi....

.... effectively the first anniversary of the service which had started on
Thursday 1 August 2013 - the flight does not operate on a Friday!


easyJet Airbus A319-111 which wears the "Linate - Fiumicino Per Tutti" special
colour scheme operated their morning service to Belfast International

Atlantique Air Assistance Beech 1900C F-GVLC which had arrived on Wednesday....

.... was an afternoon departure to Nantes

Challenger 601 N23SB which had arrived on Thursday spent the day parked up

Citation XLS+ G-CHUI was an afternoon visitor to the Elmdon apron
- this former Eurojet aircraft is now operated by Air Charter Scotland

Air India Boeing 787-8 VT-ANQ operated their flight from Amritsar via Delhi....

.... arriving in the middle of an unseasonal downpour! - its first visit to BHX

Turkmenistan Boeing 757-22K EZ-A012 operated their flight from Ashkhabad

Germanwings Airbus A319-132 D-AGWG operated their flight to Berlin Tegel - its first visit to BHX

flybe Dash 8Q-402 G-JECY - the "#purpleplane" - was a morning departure to Jersey and Guernsey

Fleet Air International Saab 340A HA-TAD spent the day parked up on the Elmdon apron
