Saturday 11 May 2013 - RAF Rescue Sea King HAR3 ZA105 visits on a medevac flight from Devon

RAF Rescue Sea King HAR3 ZA105 was a morning visitor operating a medevac flight having already
made one visit earlier to collect a specialist medical team from Birmingham Children’s Hospital....


.... which it transported to a hospital in Devon - it then returned with the patient and the medical

Wednesday 21 April 2010 - Ash cloud? - Birmingham Airport is back in business!!

After clearance was granted on Tuesday evening to reopen UK
airspace the race was on to restart operations - first departure
(with passengers) from BHX on Wednesday morning was
Monarch flight ZB 402 to Faro which was operated by
Airbus A321-231 G-OZBG - well done to Monarch
for having 3 of the first 4 departures from Birmingham ....
.
.... and to Tim and Lucy from the "Express and Star" for
being on hand to catch the first departure
which earned them a copy of the "BHX Flight Guide"!!
.
Monarch Airbus A321-231 G-OZBG lifts off Runway 33 on its way
to Faro - the first departure since Thursday 15 April 2010! - the
race was then on to repatriate all the stranded passengers....
. .... Lufthansa used CityLine Embraer 195LR D-AEBB to operate
their afternoon service to Munich - its first visit to BHX - in
place of the usual Canadair CRJ 900 while....
..... Turkish Airlines laid on two extra flight to repatriate passengers
stranded in Istanbul - Airbus A321-231 TC-JRB was an evening
arrival with 321 TC-JML operating an (extra) lunchtime service

Eurocypria Boeing 737-8BK 5B-DBZ operated their
much delayed IT flight to Paphos
.
Hawker 850XP G-CERX was an overnight arrival
spending the day parked on the Elmdon apron....

.... while Eurojet Citation XLS G-KPEI was an afternoon visitor
operating a training flight

Friday 26 March 2010 - RAF Nimrod MR2 farewell flypast prior to retirement

RAF Nimrod MR2 XV250 made an ILS approach and go around to
Runway 15 as part of a series of flights to mark its retirement....
.
.... from RAF service at the end of March 2010 - the
flight originated at RAF Kinloss, in Scotland, and....
..... routed via Newcastle to BHX....

..... it continued onto Liverpool and back to RAF Kinloss

came from Birmingham or Solihull! - they are seen above with
the whole Nimrod crew back at RAF Kinloss

.A number of Nimrod's have visited BHX over the years - Nimrod MR2
XZ284 was present for the airport's 60th anniversary air display in
July 1999 parking in the static display on the former cross runway

Jet2 Boeing 737-330 G-CELH was an early morning arrival
operating a charter flight fromMunster/Osnabruck
.Newly registered Hawker 850XP M-IRNE was a late
afternoon arrival on the Elmdon apron....
.
.... as was Gulfstream IV N317MJ
.
.... while Gulfstream 550 N556TT which had arrived
on Tuesday afternoon departed

Wednesday 9 August 2017 - Thomas Cook Airbus A321-211 G-TCDM flying with "I (Love) MCR" titles

Thomas Cook Airbus A321-211 G-TCDM operated their flight from Heraklion in place of the usual 757-300....

.... it wears additional "I (Love) MCR" titles following the terrorist attack on the Manchester Arena in May 2017

Thomas Cook Boeing 757-3CQ G-JMAA had positioned in from Manchester to operate the return
service to Heraklion after having gone "tech" and been replaced by G-TCDM on the earlier flight


Eurowings Airbus A320-214 D-ABNK which is leased from Air Berlin operated their flight from Vienna

Blue Air Boeing 737-8K5 YR-BMI operated their flight from Cluj-Napoca - the aircraft
retains the basic colour scheme of its previous operator Transaero (of Russia)

CityJet Avro RJ85 EI-RJF operated the mid-morning KLM flight from Amsterdam

Air Transat Airbus A330-243 C-GTSR operated their weekly flight from Toronto....

.... departing back to Toronto off Runway 33

British Airways Airbus A319-131 G-EUOH was a morning visited when it diverted in due to landing
delays at Manchester caused by a disabled aircraft - after refuelling it continued onto Manchester

Vueling Airbus A320-232 EC-LQL operated their flight to Barcelona

Cobalt Airbus A320-214 5B-DCY operated their flight to Larnaca....

.... departing off Runway 33
