Monarch launches summer 2009 flights from Birmingham including new route to Cyprus

Award winning low fares airline Monarch has today launched its

summer 2009 scheduled programme from Birmingham, which

includes a new twice weekly service to Larnaca in Cyprus and

increased frequencies to the popular Canary Islands of Lanzarote

and Tenerife

Highlights of the summer 2009 schedule currently on sale
from Birmingham include:

- Alicante - daily flights
- Almeria - three flights per week
- Faro - daily flights
- Lanzarote - *increased frequency* - two flights per week
- Larnaca - *new route* - two flights per week
- Malaga - daily flights
- Menorca - four flights per week
- Murcia - four flights per week
- Palma de Mallorca - eight flights per week
- Tenerife - *increased frequency* - five flights per week

Monarch's new Larnaca service will commence on Sunday
29 March 2009 and operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Ibiza will not be served for summer 2009

Commenting on the launch of summer 2009 flights and the

introduction of services from Birmingham, managing director

of Monarch's scheduled services, Liz Savage said, "It is fantastic

that we have been able to publish next summer's schedule at

this early stage, which will enable people to get a head start

on their holiday plans for next year. "We are also delighted to

be expanding our network to the Eastern Mediterranean with

the launch of services to Cyprus from Birmingham. We have

Gatwick and Manchester and have been inundated with

requests from the public to introduce services to Cyprus

from Birmingham. I am sure that the people of the Midlands

will warmly welcome the introduction of this service offering

them a greater choice of direct flights and low fares. "Monarch's

onboard service is also perfectly placed for the four and a half

hour flight time, with extra leg room seating, inflight

entertainment - including full length feature films and the

provision of hot and cold food all available"

and Cyprus from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton

and Manchester airports and was named as Leisure Airline of the
