Birmingham Airport handled 945,539 passengers duringAugust 2011 - a decrease of 2.1% on the previous year

Another challenging month with most of the decrease due to
the decline in charter/IT traffic as leisure travel continues to
be adversely effected by the current economic conditions

During August significant growth was achieved on
scheduled flights to destinations such as -
Almeria 128.4%, Fuerteventura 95.3%, Malta 83.7%,
