Birmingham Airport handled 944,227 passengers during June 2013
- an increase of 3.4% on the previous year
Another encouraging month as services continue to build up towards
the summer peak - Aer Lingus added three additional daily ATR 72 flights
to Dublin while bmi regional commenced their new service to Billund
Existing routes continued to do well - Istanbul was up a further 37.4%
as it continued to benefit from the additional flights that were added
at the start of the summer schedules
During June significant growth was achieved on scheduled flights
to destinations such as - Venice 40.1%, Istanbul 37.4%, Guernsey 23.2%,
Aberdeen 19.2%, Stuttgart 17.8%, Waterford 15.9%, Amsterdam 15.8%,
Trieste 14.3% and Rzeszow 14.0%
Charter traffic which experience growth included -
Malta 155.1%, Tunisia 99.0% and Croatia 64.5%
Scheduled traffic accounted for 74.9% of the total passenger traffic
in June whilst charter passengers made up the remaining 25.1%
