March 2011 - a fall of 6.2% on the previous year

Traffic at the start of the month was boosted by extra
Aer Lingus and Ryanair flights for the Cheltenham
Gold Cup week but with Easter this year in April this
did not stop an overall fall in passengers for the month
.
During March signficant growth was achieved on
scheduled flights to destinations such as -
Palma 176.1%, Ibiza 122.9%, Malta 87.6%,
Gothenburg 22.0%, Fuerteventura 16.3%,
Brussels 15.4%, Lyon 14.0% and Faro 12.6%
.
Charter traffic which experience growth included -
Austria 59.6% and Itatly 58.0%
.
Scheduled traffic accounted for 84.6% of the total
passenger traffic in March whilst charter passengers
made up the remaining 15.4%
