Friday 24 July 2009 - Diversions result in Triple Emirates Triple Sevens at BHX!!

Three Emirates Boeing 777's on the ground at BHX at the same time!
- in the centre is 777-300ER A6-ECR which was a Heathrow weather
diversion while operating flight EK 029 from Dubai while next to it is
777-300ER A6-EBU which was an earlier Gatwick diversion due to a
disabled aircraft blocking the Runway - it was operating flight EK 015
from Dubai. Meanwhile 777-200ER A6-EMD prepares to depart on
the daily scheduled BHX lunchtime EK 040 service to Dubai

Emirates Boeing 777-300ER A6-EBU was the first diversion of the
day after a flybe Dash 8Q-400 blocked the Runway at Gatwick....
.
.... later in the afternoon poor weather caused landing delays at
Heathrow with the result that Emirates 777-300ER, PIA A310
AP-BEG, British Airways A319 G-EUPL and bmi Embraer 145
G-RJXR all diverted to BHX
.
PIA Airbus A310-300 AP-BEG which wears the "Gilgit - The Silk
Route" tail colour scheme departed back to Heathrow as another
storm passed to the east of BHX....
