.... the first of this type of "tiltrotor military aircraft" to visit Birmingham Airport!

.... next to US Air Air Force Boeing VC-32A 98-0002 which had arrived on Thursday evening
attracting a lot of attention while it awaited its passengers....

.... who duly arrived and boarded the Bell-Boeing CV-22 Osprey which then started up

.... it rotors tilt forward to allow it to taxy as it made it way for departure via Taxiway Foxtrot

.... and Taxiway Lima still with the rear door open

.... it then lined up on Runway 33 in front of the fire station

.... the rotors cutting through the cold early morning air

.... as it gained altitude the rotors move forward and it becomes a turbo prop aircraft

.... taxying in by Cavok Air Antonov 12BP UR-CEZ and Grodno Aviacompany Antonov 26B EW-364TG

.... the Hercules was operating a medevac flight and later departed to RAF Mildenhall

United States Air Force Boeing VC-32A 98-0002 was an evening arrival from Tel Aviv on the Elmdon apron....

.... bringing in US Defence Department officials for a meeting with their British counterparts

Aurigny ATR 72-212A G-COBO climbs quickly off Runway 33....

.... having started its take off run back to Guernsey from Sierra One

.... it had earlier diverted in due to a disabled aircraft blocking the runway at East Midlands

.... parking on the Elmdon apron - it was soon on its way back to Leipzig

Icelandair Boeing 757-223 TF-ISY operated their flight to Reykjavik/Keflavik

easyJet Swiss Airbus A319 HB-JZS operated the flight to Geneva in place of the usual G- aircraft

Bin Air Metro III D-CAVA spent the day parked up on the Elmdon apron

Falcon 7X M-LJGI was an afternoon departure back to Dublin

Cirrus SR-22 N549CD was a late afternoon arrival on the Elmdon apron

.... it had earlier positioned in from Andrews AFB near Washington to collect the passengers

.... who were originally planned to depart on Boeing VC-32A 98-0002 - that aircraft had been reassigned
to transport the Americans released by Iran and had positioned out to Geneva on Saturday evening

.... with Boeing C-40B 01-0040 taking the US Defence Department staff visiting the UK back to Washington

Small Planet Airbus A320-233 SP-HAH operated their flight from Paderborn....

.... its first visit to BHX

Vizion Air Fokker 50 OO-VLP operated the VLM flight to Waterford

Titan Boeing 757-256 G-ZAPX operated their weekly IT/inclusive tour flight to Chambery

flybe Embraer 195 G-FBEM which is in a "Cancer Research UK" logo scheme was
a morning arrival from Faro when it diverted in due to poor visibility at Cardiff

GlobeAir Cessna 510 Mustang OE-FCB was a morning arrival parking up to night stop

Piaggio P-180 Avanti M-PIRE was a day stopping visitor from Rotterdam
