at Birmingham Airport to support its newly launched Winter 2016/17 programme

Birmingham Airport welcomes Thomas Cook Airlines first ever father and daughter flight crew
Last December, Thomas Cook Airlines welcomed the first of its new Airbus A321 aircraft
to be based at Birmingham Airport, and today, Friday 6 February 2015, another first takes
off from the airport – on board the same aircraft
Taking control on the flight deck of the A321 and flying holidaymakers from Birmingham
to Tenerife, was Thomas Cook Airlines’ first ever Father-and-Daughter flight crew
Captain Peter Elliott, one of the airlines’ most senior pilots, and his daughter, Senior First
Officer Laura Elliott, who recently returned to the airline, flew together for first time on
board the new aircraft
Speaking about this remarkable coincidence, SFO Laura Elliott said, "It’s pure chance that

we’ve been rostered on the same flight – I’ve recently come back to Thomas Cook Airlines
and with my Dad moving over to fly the same type of aircraft as me, we were hoping it

With 15,500 hours of flying and a pilot trainer for 25 years, Captain Elliott will take command
of the aircraft having moved from operating Boeing to Airbus aircraft ahead of Thomas Cook
Airlines bringing more A321 to Birmingham in 2015. Alongside him, SFO Elliott joined Thomas
Cook Airlines as a cadet in 2009 and has acquired over 2,500 hours on Airbus type aircraft

Thomas Cook Airlines UK has welcomed the first of its new Airbus A321 aircraft to be based
at Birmingham - this follows the news in July this year that the airline would base four Airbus
aircraft at the airport Summer 2015, replacing the outgoing Boeing 757 fleet
Ahead of the aircraft’s first flight – to Fuerteventura - holidaymakers looking for winter sun
helped celebrate the arrival of the aircraft as they checked-in. With the new fleet based at
several airports across the UK, Birmingham is the latest to receive a new aircraft which joined
Thomas Cook Airlines this summer
Christoph Debus, CEO for Thomas Cook Airlines, said, "It’s an exciting day for our airline as
we bring one of our new fleet of aircraft to Birmingham. We’re convinced that our customers
will love the new comfort and reliability this winter with more legroom and space on-board,
with more aircraft set to arrive next summer to take our customers from the Midlands to
a great range of new destinations"

of Paphos. The airline will also now be able to offer daily flights to Dalaman, as well as increased
frequencies to Zante, Mahon, Bodrum, Antalya, Izmir, Bourgas and Fuerteventura

Thomas Cook Airlines to add new aircraft and routes at Birmingham Airport for Summer 2015
Thomas Cook Airlines has today announced that it will base an additional aircraft at Birmingham Airport
for summer 2015. The Thomas Cook Airlines fleet will also change to become three Airbus A321 aircraft,
replacing the current Boeing 757 fleet, with the increase to four aircraft completed with an Airbus A320

As a result, the airline will be able to offer 47,000 more flight seats and holidays to customers in the
