Mahan Air Airbus A310 F-OJHH parked on Stand 81 after it had been seized

Passengers at Birmingham Airport have been caught up in
a dispute between Mahan Air and GECAS Aircraft Leasing
and Financing Solutions
.
Mahan Air Airbus A310-304 F-OJHH was seized by the
leasing company when it arrived from Tehran on flight
W5 5020 shortly before 1200 on Thursday 30 June 2011
.
The aircraft was parked up on a remote parking stand
and the outbound flight to Tehran scheduled due to
depart at 1430 was cancelled
.

Mahan Air to use an Airbus A340 to BHX!!

Mahan Air (W5) are in the process of acquiring their first Airbus A340
.

The aircraft is currently being prepared for service and - subject to

final Government approval - will initially be used on their service

to Birmingham from Tehran

.

Mahan Air to add fourth weekly flight!!

Mahan Air are to add a fourth weekly flight to their service

to Tehran effective from Wednesday 3 February 2010
.

The additional weekly service will operate on Wednesday's

flight W5 5020 will arrive at 0630 and flight W5 5019 will

depart at 0800 - all services are operated by Airbus A310's

.

Mahan Air to use Boeing 747-400's to Tehran!!

Update - the Iranian authorities have declined to grant

permission for the Boeing 747-400's to operate to the UK

- additional flights will now be operated by Airbus A300-600R's

.

Mahan Air (W5) are planning to use their Boeing 747-400's

on selected flights to BHX from Tehran over the Christmas and

New Year holiday period

.

These flights offer onward connections to Amritsar, Delhi and

other Middle and Far East destinations and have proved to be

very popular since the service was relaunched on 2 July 2009

.

Details of the revised schedule to BHX over this period will
