a new weekly IT flight to Dalaman

to operate their weekly flight to Northern Iraq - its first visit to BHX

visitor to the Elmdon apron

Aer Lingus Regional to Shannon

Aer Lingus Regional have announced that they will be commencing
a 6 times weekly Shannon to BHX service on Thursday 1 July 2010
These flights will be operated by an Aer Arran ATR 72 in Aer Lingus
Regional colours as part of the new franchise agreement between
the two operators
This route was last served by Ryanair who have recently reduced
their operation from Shannon

the first rotation of a new weekly IT flight to Dalaman - the first
visit of a Thomas Cook 763 since they had winglets fitted

Onur Air Airbus A320-211 TC-OBD operated the first rotation

operate on Monday to Thursday evenings

Iceland Express are coming to Birmingham!!

Iceland Express will be basing a Boeing 737-700
at Birmingham every weekend during the school
holidays/peak summer season to provide extra
capacity for Thomas Cook Holidays
The aircraft will operate additional weekly IT
flights to Mahon, Palma and Tenerife with the
flights being operated under Astraeus "AEU" flight
codes and the aircraft in Iceland Express colours
The Boeing 737-700 will position from/to Gatwick

Cello Aviation's "Avro Business Jet" BAe 146-200 G-RAJJ was
"delivered" from Southend to BHX and will now be based except
when away earning its living. It has retained the "Avro Business Jet"
titles that were added for its attendance at EBACE in Geneva
Hawker 750 I-EPAM was a day stopping visitor to the Elmdon apron
Swiss Airbus A321-111 HB-IOF operated their evening service
to Zurich in place of the usual Helvetic Fokker 100

Monday 24 May 2010 - Delta Boeing 757 diverts in due to Manchester security alert

Delta Boeing 757-251 N544US operating flight "DL 154" from
New York JFK was one of a number of aircraft to divert into
BHX when Manchester Airport was closed by a security alert....
.... after refueling it continued onto Manchester
The other two diversions were Continental Boeing 757-224 N17133
operating flight "CO 020" from Newark....
.... and Saga Airlines Boeing 737-86J TC-SGI which was in an all
white scheme with just a small "Istanbul - European Capital of
Culture" sticker by the front passenger door
Tailwind Airlines Boeing 737-4Q8 TC-TLC operated the KTHY
Cyprus Turkish Airlines flight from Dalaman and Ercan in
Northern Cyprus - the first visit of this Turkish airline to BHX
