Friday 26 March 2010 - RAF Nimrod MR2 farewell flypast prior to retirement

RAF Nimrod MR2 XV250 made an ILS approach and go around to
Runway 15 as part of a series of flights to mark its retirement....

.... from RAF service at the end of March 2010 - the
flight originated at RAF Kinloss, in Scotland, and....
..... routed via Newcastle to BHX....

..... it continued onto Liverpool and back to RAF Kinloss

came from Birmingham or Solihull! - they are seen above with
the whole Nimrod crew back at RAF Kinloss

.A number of Nimrod's have visited BHX over the years - Nimrod MR2
XZ284 was present for the airport's 60th anniversary air display in
July 1999 parking in the static display on the former cross runway

Jet2 Boeing 737-330 G-CELH was an early morning arrival
operating a charter flight fromMunster/Osnabruck
.Newly registered Hawker 850XP M-IRNE was a late
afternoon arrival on the Elmdon apron....

.... as was Gulfstream IV N317MJ
.
.... while Gulfstream 550 N556TT which had arrived
on Tuesday afternoon departed
