New EC 135 for West Midlands Police

The West Midlands Police Air Support Unit's new helicopter
- Eurocopter EC 135 P2+ G-POLA - was handed over to the
Chief Constable of the West Midlands Police at a ceremony
on Monday 19 July 2010 at the the Farnborough Air Show
.
G-POLA is on display at the Eurocopter/EADS stand in Hall 4
until the Farnborough Air Show ends on Sunday 25 July 2010
.
The starboard side of the tail rotor wears a
St George's Cross - "English" flag - ....
.
.... rather than the "Union Jack" which still appears on the port side
.
When the show finishes G-POLA will be dismantled again (to get it
out of the hall) and trucked to Oxford for reassembly and acceptance
flights. Subject to these it should then be delivered to BHX during
August at which time G-SUFF - which replaced G-WMAO after
that helicopter was destroyed in an arson attack in the early hours of
Monday 8 June 2009 - will be returned to Eurocopter
.
