Air France confirms codeshare with flybe - will operate Airbus A318's to Birmingham!!

Air France (AF) announced in July 2010 that they would be
entering into a codeshare agreement with flybe (BE) on all their
France - UK routes that would be implemented in the autumn....
.
.... the first phase of this has now been confirmed - from the start
of the winter schedules on Sunday 31 October 2010 the BHX-CDG
route will become a joint operation with three flights a day being
flown by Air France/CityJet and three flights a day by flybe
(reduced service at weekends) under both AF and BE flight codes
.
Air France are planning to use an Airbus A318 on the first inbound
flight to Birmingham - on Monday to Friday from 1 November 2010 -
which will arrive BHX at 0820 and depart at 0920
.
The other Air France flights will continue to be operated by CityJet
Avro RJ85's while flybe will use Embraer 195's on their flights
(some Dash 8Q-400's at weekends)
.
The Air France Lyon flights will continue to be operated by Britair
.
From 31 October 2010 Air France and flybe will codeshare
on all their BHX-France flights
.

Privilege Style flying from BHX for VW

Privilege Style will be operating a Boeing 757 charter flight
from BHX next Sunday, 12 September 2010, in connection
with the launch of the new VW Amarok Caddy in Austria
.
The flight should be operated by Boeing 757 EC-HDS which
wears additional "VW Amarok Caddy" titles - the return
flight is on Monday 13 September 2010 - timings are -

Tuesday 7 September 2010 - West Air Europe BAe ATP G-BTPC operates their service to Lille

West Air Europe BAe ATP SE-MAI has recently been transferred
to the UK register/Atlantic Airlines as G-BTPC and first visited BHX
as such on Monday evening - it operated their freight service to
Lille. It was of course a regular visitor when with British Airways!

Ryanair Boeing 737-8AS EI-EKK operated their lunchtime service to
Dublin - its first visit to BHX - it wears additional "Fuerteventura" titles
.
Royal Flight Sikorsky S 76C G-XXEB was a visitor to the Elmdon
apron carrying The Princess Royal who opened the Dairy Event
and Livestock Show at the National Exhibition Centre
.
Beech Super King Air SP-RPW was a day stopping visitor
to the Elmdon apron

World Duty Free to develop new stores at Birmingham as part of "One Terminal" project

World Duty Free have announced they will be
developing a new store as part of the "One Terminal"
airside redevelopment at Birmingham Airport
.
The existing Alpha Airport Shopping store will be relocated
and rebranded "World Duty Free" - both brands now being
owned by Autogrill whose contract to provide travel retail
and duty free shopping at BHX has been extended to 2021
.
From Spring 2011 all passengers will be processed through
a new central security search area and the two existing
terminals will become a single facility with the new "walk
through" store being accessible to all departing passengers
.
The existing Terminal 2 outlet will be transformed into an
"express" format while a further stored will be opened in
the new central arrivals area that is also being constructed
as part of the "One Terminal" project
.

in from Heathrow to operate a charter to Munich

scheme operated their lunchtime service to Amsterdam
