Monday 2 February 2009 - winter comes to the UK! - diversions come to BHX!!

Significant snow falls in the south east on Sunday evening
resulted in a large number of diversions to BHX from
Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and London City and
the bad weather continued into Monday....
.
.... the result was an airport packed with overnight diversions!
.
Good use was made of the former cross runway - now Taxiway
Tango - and despite the number of earlier diversion they kept
coming during Monday although BHX had to close a number
of times during the day for snow clearance
.
Wizz Air Airbus A320-232 LZ-WZB was operating flight "W6 901"
from Sofia to Luton when it diverted in. It had another go to get
into Luton in the early afternoon only to divert back to BHX again!

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVW was operating flight
"BA 118" from Bangalore when it diverted in from Heathrow
.
Wizz Air Airbus A320-232 HA-LPI was operating flight "W6 201"
from Budapest to Luton later positioning direct back to Budapest
.
The snow ploughs prepare for another run down the runway!

Air Slovakia Boeing 737-3Z9 OM-ASC was operating SkyEurope
flight "NE 120" from Bratislava to Luton when it diverted in
.
Boeing 737-7AH BBJ N888TY which had been parked on the
Elmdon apron since it arrived from the US on Saturday evening
departed to Zurich in the middle of a blizzard!
