The Apron Control Tower which has been a feature of BHX's skyline
since the current Terminal opened in 1984 finally succumbed to the
demolition team working on the new International Pier....
.
.... being pulled apart by a "claw"....
.

.... and loaded into contractors trucks and removed from the site
.

By the end of the day only skeleton of the tower remained....
.

.... and BHX's skyline had been changed again as work continues
on the completion of the new International Pier
.

The same view in 1988 when the Apron Control Tower used to
dominate the skyline and the aircraft came from a earlier age!
.

Another view in 1991 after the opening of Eurohub - now Terminal 2
.
