Birmingham International Airport handled 965,784 passengersduring August 2010 - a fall of 4.8% on the previous year

While total passengers were down again those that did travel
continued to fly further - long and medium haul routes did well
with Dubai up 8.9% and Turkey still up 19.9% despite the
collapse of a number of specialist tour operators

During August signicant growth was achieved on

Milan 28.1%, Bergerac 27.0%, Guernsey 23.5%
Teheran 18.3%, Hannover 18.1%, Faro 14.4%
Zurich 11.2%, Nice 9.5% and Dubai 8.9%

Charter traffic which experience growth included -
Dominican Republic 130.1%, Croatia 76.8%,
Mexico 28.3% and Turkey 19.9%

Scheduled traffic accounted for 68.3% of the total
passenger traffic in August whilst charter passengers
made up the remaining 31.7%
