Monarch's expanded summer 2012 programme to go on sale on Friday 18 May 2012

Monarch who last week announced plans to introduce extra
frequencies and a new route from Birmingham Airport have
confirmed the new flights will go on sale on Friday 18 May 2012
.
The expansion of services from Birmingham - and the addition
of two further based aircraft - is in reaction to the news that
bmibaby will be ceasing operations later in the summer
.
Monarch are adding a new route to Barcelona and additional
peak season flights to Alicante, Faro, Malaga, Palma and Rome,
all destinations currently served by bmibaby from Birmingham
.
Commenting on the new services, Managing Director of Monarch
Airlines, Kevin George said, "Monarch is delighted to be launching
the new and additional services from Birmingham Airports which
will support travellers in the region left without flights to some
of their favourite leisure destinations once bmibaby closes
.
As a result of this expansion Monarch will be basing a fleet
of 8 aircraft at Birmingham to serve a total of 25 destinations
- Alicante, Almeria, Barcelona, Bodrum, Dalaman, Dubrovnik,
Faro, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Grenoble*, Heraklion,
Ibiza, Lanzarote, Larnaca, Madeira*, Majorca, Malaga,
Menorca, Milan, Munich*, Paphos, Rome, Sharm el Sheikh*,
Tenerife and Venice *Flights launch autumn/winter 2012
