September 2010 passenger figures

Birmingham International Airport handled 917,860 passengers
during September 2010 - a fall of 2.1% on the previous year
.
Once again it was the long and medium haul routes that
continued do well - Dubai was up 25.9% - while on the
downside UK domestic was down 8.4%
.
During September signicant growth was achieved on
scheduled flights to destinations such as -
Arrecife 152.4%, Ibiza 74.7%, Bydgoszcz 68.4%,
Tenerife 66.1%, Tehran 51.5%, Zurich 46.5%,
Gothenburg 42.6%, Bergerac 35.8%, Gerona 35.2%,
Faro 34.4%, Lyon 27.9%, Hannover 27.4%,
Dubai 25.6%, Inverness 23.2%, Larnaca 22.0%,
Islambad 21.8%, Milan 21.5%, Stuttgart 20.5%,
Frankfurt 19.7%, Kaunas 16.1% and Cork 14.7%
.
Charter traffic which experience growth included -
Dominican Republic 778.4%, Italy 15.4%
and Turkey 8.6%
.
Scheduled traffic accounted for 71.1% of the total
passenger traffic in September whilst charter
passengers made up the remaining 28.9%
.
